Inspired by the disappearing
huge Banyan trees of
Bangalore that provided
wonderful shade to rest
for a while, this piece is
hand-built, shaped, carved
porcelain which is then
glazed and fired to 2200°F.
The base is a horizontal
slice of a tree trunk and
has a live edge. The wood
is oiled to show its natural
color and grain –
